Organizational Brief: The Center for Natural Resource Studies (CNRS) is a prominent environmental non-governmental organization (NGO) in Bangladesh, established in 1994. Since its inception, CNRS has actively engaged in its mission and has garnered recognition from various local, national, and international stakeholders, including government bodies and funding agencies, by showcasing innovative approaches and delivering significant learning outcomes.

Background: The McGovern-Dole Program aims to improve child nutrition, education, and health outcomes in Bangladesh through a comprehensive School Feeding Program. The five-year project (October 2024 – September 2029) will directly support 31,936 pre-primary and primary school children in Madhabpur upazila of Habiganj district, while providing technical assistance in Ukhiya and Kutubdia upazilas of Cox’s Bazar district and capacity-strengthening support for the Government’s upcoming School Feeding Programme. Key activities include providing nutritious school meals, developing instructional materials, strengthening education system capacities, building and rehabilitating WASH facilities, supporting nutrition education, establishing school gardens, enhancing smallholder farmer production and market access, and enabling national and sub-national governance structures. The project will be implemented in collaboration with key partners, including WFP, CNRS, RtR, and FAO, to ensure sustainability, evidence generation, and effective coordination across sectors. CNRS under the leadership of WFP will implement the School feeding program in Madhabpur upazila of Habiganj district.

The School Feeding Program aims to improve child nutrition, school attendance, and overall health outcomes through the provision of nutritious meals, improved Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) facilities, and health education in targeted schools. The program also focuses on capacity building, community engagement, and promoting sustainable practices

Job Purpose: The Accounts and Admin Officer will play a critical role in ensuring the project’s financial integrity and administrative efficiency. This position involves managing day-to-day financial transactions, including processing payments, handling advances and reimbursements, and maintaining accurate financial records. The officer will ensure compliance with financial policies, donor regulations, and statutory requirements, assisting in budget tracking, forecasting, and financial reporting. Additionally, they will oversee procurement processes, inventory management, and logistical support, ensuring transparency and efficiency in office operations. The role demands expertise in accounting software, financial documentation, and audit preparation. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a dynamic work environment are essential for effectively supporting both financial and administrative functions of the project.

Job Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Accounting

  • Maintain accurate financial records and prepare vouchers for all project-related expenses.
  • Process payments, advances, reimbursements, and settlements in compliance with financial policies.
  • Ensure timely disbursement of multi-purpose cash assistance to selected households.
  • Monitor project expenditures and assist in budget tracking and financial forecasting.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for submission to management and donors.

Administration & Office Management

  • Oversee procurement processes, ensuring transparency and compliance with organizational policies.
  • Maintain and update inventory records for project assets and office supplies.
  • Manage administrative tasks, including travel arrangements, event coordination, and logistical support for field activities.
  • Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial and administrative records.
  • Assist in organizing staff orientation, meetings, and capacity-building sessions.

Compliance & Audit Support

  • Ensure adherence to donor guidelines, financial policies, and local regulations.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary financial documents and records.
  • Maintain compliance with taxation and other statutory requirements.

Working Conditions:
