Responsibilities & Context
The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a federal enterprise with worldwide operations. GIZ supports the German Government in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development. GIZ has been working as a development partner of Bangladesh since 1972 under bilateral agreement. Currently, we are working in the areas of renewable energy, adaptation to climate change, private sector development and technical education, biodiversity, as well as good governance and displacement.
GIZ Bangladesh is currently seeking applications for the position of “Junior Technical Advisor” from candidates under “Green Room Air-Conditioning’’ Project.
A. Responsibilities
- Managing an area of responsibility that forms part of the programme objectives, team agreements and/or agreements with the superior.
- Assisting project/programme initiatives to provide professional advisory services to and cooperate with a broad range of target groups.
- Advise supervisor on all tasks when implementing GIZ rules and regulation.
- Advise supervisor in the field of project planning, steering and monitoring.
- Independently implement goals and requirements set by the line manager.
- Make decisions which have a short-term effect within a limited project area/ unit.
- Assist supervisor to identify day to day problem and suggest appropriate solution
B. The position holder is responsible for the following tasks:
Tasks
Technical
- Support in the preparation of draft concept notes, terms of reference, papers, report writing and reviewing, recording meeting proceedings and other project documents,
- Research on different policies related to the refrigeration and air conditioning sector, energy efficiency improvement etc.
- Prepare briefs for the project officials, as required,
- Support in data collection and analysis of the data collected for project reports
Event Management & Logistics
- Support in the organization of workshops, seminars, events & training under the project
- Support in material preparation and dissemination, rapporteuring, communication with the relevant vendors and service providers
- Communication and following up with the invitees and participants
- Provide logistic support for events including arrangement of venue, catering, IT requirements
- Support in the dissemination of information and outputs of training, workshops and meetings organized by the project to both internal and external stakeholders
- Support in travel arrangement of project staff and partner officials
Knowledge Management
- Support in preparing and updating communication materials for the project including factsheets, articles, news updates, official correspondence/letters for internal and external audiences,
- Coordinate with the service-providers for ensuring quality and abiding by GIZ rules and regulations during events and trainings
- Collect and archive both physical and electronic copies of all publications and knowledge products of the project (including letters, meeting minutes, reports, photos, videos, etc.) by maintaining a filing system
Other duties/additional tasks
- Supporting in the coordination with administrative and finance officials on project implementation related issues
- Further specific tasks may be discussed and agreed upon with the project responsible
