Software Company
Responsibilities & Context
Tech Stack:Kubernetes, Pulumi/Terraform, Docker, GitOps, Prometheus, Grafana, Helm, Keycloak, AWS/Azure/GCP/DigitalOcean, CI/CD
About the Project:
We are building federated dataspaces inspired by initiatives such as Catena-X, Eclipse Tractus-X, and Gaia-X. Dataspaces will enable secure, standards-compliant, and sovereign data exchange across industrial and regulated ecosystems.
Our infrastructure will be designed to be provider-agnostic, supporting deployment across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and DigitalOcean. We aim to abstract the complexity of dataspace participation and deliver a seamless experience to data providers and consumers.
This is not limited to connector development. The scope includes the full architecture of the dataspace:
● Identity and trust management (DID, DAPS, OAuth2)
● Semantic metadata modelling and knowledge graphs
● Policy-based access control and contract negotiation
● Federated service discovery and data catalogues
● Data governance, auditability, and lifecycle management
You will be part of a cross-functional team contributing to an ambitious and highly impactful infrastructure platform from the ground up.
Role Overview:
As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing and operating a platform-agnostic infrastructure layer that powers the dataspace offering. You will work with modern infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools: Pulumi or Terraform to provision, manage, and scale Kubernetes environments and underlying services in a secure, automated, and auditable way.
You will collaborate with Engineering, DevSecOps and QA teams to implement GitOps pipelines, monitoring systems, and robust cloud-native practices that guarantee performance and reliability across providers.
Responsibilities:
● Architect and maintain multi-cloud infrastructure using Pulumi or Terraform
● Deploy and manage Kubernetes clusters across AWS, Azure, GCP, and DigitalOcean.
● Design GitOps-enabled CI/CD workflows using tools like ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, or GitLab
● Build and deploy Helm-based services and secure Docker containers
● Integrate identity and access control systems (Keycloak, OAuth2, DAPS)
● Set up and maintain observability platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki/ELK)
● Implement backup, disaster recovery, and HA strategies across multiple clouds
● Automate infrastructure provisioning, upgrades, and scaling using IaC
● Ensure compliance, logging, and governance support for dataspace interoperability
● Collaborate on design reviews, runbooks, and deployment best practices
Required Qualifications:
● 5-7 years of experience in DevOps or infrastructure engineering
● Strong experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and containerisation
● Proficient in Pulumi or Terraform for infrastructure-as-code
● Proven ability to work in multi-cloud or hybrid environments
● Strong Linux skills and understanding of cloud networking and security
● Hands-on experience with GitOps and CI/CD pipelines
● Familiarity with monitoring/logging stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
● Experience with OAuth2, Keycloak, and secure identity integration
Nice to Have:
● Experience in federated data systems or dataspace components (EDC, Gaia-X, Catena-X)
● Background with decentralised identity (DIDs, VCs) and access control policy systems
● Experience with S3-compatible storage, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB
● Open-source contributions in DevOps, IaC, or cloud-native tooling
● Familiarity with infrastructure compliance, audit logging, or zero-trust practices
