Responsibilities & Context
The Computer Instructor will be responsible for delivering basic computer training to adolescents aged 15–18 as part of the Skills Development Program and also support activities on literacy, numeracy, and life skills to help students grow in all areas and prepare for future opportunities. This position will also guide learners through foundational computer knowledge, digital literacy, and practical applications, supporting them to build confidence and skills for future learning, employment, or entrepreneurship.
- Deliver engaging lessons in Computer Skills, Literacy, Numeracy, and Life Skills as per the approved Skills Development Program curriculum.
- Teach basic to intermediate computer skills (MS Office, internet use, email, typing, etc.).
- Provide hands-on training on computer hardware and software troubleshooting.
- Support students in developing and completing mini-projects or assignments.
- Conduct regular assessments to monitor learner progress and provide feedback.
- Maintain discipline and a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
- Keep accurate records of attendance, performance, and assessments.
- Maintain and manage computer lab equipment to ensure functionality and security.
- Provide individualized or small-group support to learners as needed.
- Collaborate with program staff to organize workshops, competitions, or digital literacy campaigns.
- Identify and engage out-of-school learners with varying learning needs.
- Contribute to post-graduation activities by supporting referrals to internships, income-generating activities, or further training opportunities.
- Participate in training sessions, review meetings, and reporting activities.
- Promote innovation and creativity among students through ICT-based problem-solving.
- Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme’s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
- Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
- Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
