Prepare initial and preliminary cost estimates during the feasibility and design phases to support project decision-making.
Research and collect data on material, labor, and equipment costs from suppliers, vendors, and market sources.
Incorporate inputs from architectural and engineering teams (civil, electrical, plumbing, etc.) to refine and validate cost estimations.
Develop detailed, accurate cost breakdowns for approved designs, covering labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and overheads.
Review and update cost estimates at defined project milestones or when scope/design changes occur.
Track and monitor project expenditures to ensure alignment with approved budgets.
Conduct variance analyses to identify and report deviations between estimated and actual project costs.
Establish and continuously improve cost estimation procedures, templates, and policies to drive consistency and accuracy.
Implement best practices in cost control, documentation, and financial reporting.
Lead and mentor a team of cost analysts or junior estimators as applicable.
Provide training, guidance, and support to relevant departments on costing methodologies, tools, and standards.
