Responsibilities & Context
The Media Relations Associate/Manager will play a vital role in building and maintaining a strong public image by managing strategic relationships with print, electronic, and digital media. This role involves proactive media planning, content development, handling media inquiries, and supporting crisis communication efforts. The individual will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure consistent and positive representation across all platforms.
- Core Responsibilities:
(i) Develop and nurture strategic relationships with journalists, editors, bloggers, influencers, and media outlets across platforms.
(ii) Write, edit, and distribute high-quality press releases, op-eds, articles, Q&A responses, and official statements.
(iii) Plan and execute media strategies for campaigns, product launches, CSR initiatives, and major events.
(iv) Coordinate press conferences, media briefings, interviews, and manage logistics for media visits.
(v) Respond to media queries promptly and accurately, ensuring clarity and alignment with organizational messaging.
(vi) Act as a spokesperson when delegated or support spokespersons with messaging frameworks and briefing materials.
(vii) Monitor media coverage, analyze campaign effectiveness, and prepare periodic media performance reports.
(viii) Maintain a detailed media contact database and a regularly updated media activity calendar.
(ix) Collaborate with digital and content teams to ensure unified messaging across traditional and online channels.
(x) Assist in planning and managing communication during crises or reputational risks.
(xi) Stay informed on media trends and competitor activities to provide timely strategic insights.
(xii) Coordinate with PR agencies, freelancers, or consultants when external support is required.
