Additional Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in gender-focused consultancy, policy analysis, and/or project implementation.
Demonstrated expertise in gender analysis, mainstreaming strategies, training design, and facilitation.·
Strong understanding of gender issues within the education sector and in rural, marginalized communities of Bangladesh.·
Excellent analytical, communication, and report writing skills in both Bangla and English.
Responsibilities & Context
Project Title: Enhance Quality and Inclusive Primary Education (EQUIP) in Tea Garden and Haor Areas

Location: Habiganj District, Bangladesh
Duration: 30 working days over four months (minimum of 3 visits)

About ASED Habigonj
ASED Habigonj (Association for Socio-Economic Development) invites expressions of interest from qualified and experienced female Gender Consultants to provide technical support to the Enhance Quality and Inclusive Primary Education (EQUIP) project being implemented in the tea garden and haor areas of Bahubal Upazila, Habiganj District.
This consultancy aims to strengthen gender equality and social inclusion (GESI) in project design, implementation, and monitoring. Its focus is on empowering girls, reducing barriers to inclusive education, and institutionalizing gender-responsive approaches within both the project and the broader organizational framework.
Objectives of the Assignment
The primary objective of the consultancy is to:·
- Guide and support the project team, particularly the “Gender and Inclusion Officer,” in implementing gender-responsive activities;·
- Ensure the effective integration of GESI principles into all project components;·
- Develop strategic and operational guidelines that promote long-term institutional learning and transformation.
Scope of Work
The consultant will be responsible for the following tasks:·
- Conducting gender analysis in project areas to identify gaps, barriers, and opportunities.·
- Developing a gender-responsive strategy and action plan aligned with the project log-frame.·
- Building the capacity of project staff and teachers on gender equality, inclusion, and safeguarding.·
- Reviewing project documents, training materials, and communication content to ensure gender sensitivity and inclusivity.·
- Mentoring the Gender and Inclusion Officer to enhance her technical capacity and field-level engagement.·
- Designing a Gender and Inclusion Guideline for ASED for broader organizational use.·
- Supporting monitoring of gender-related indicators and documenting lessons learned, success stories, and best practices.
