Requirements

Education

Responsibilities & Context

This position will be responsible for the implementation of the ECD component targeting children aged 3-5 and parenting education. S/he will ensure the delivery and achievement of program outputs particularly the establishment of Integrated-ECD centers. Support for the identification and mobilization of teachers/facilitators in displaced, support for facilitators training, capacity building of facilitators, activities for targeted children including psychosocial support and referral, delivery of learning and teaching material. S/he will communicate frequently with the Technical Specialist for technical issues, expenditure, reporting, and donor compliance. S/he will also frequently communicate with the Technical Specialist for technical issues. S/he will take a proactive stance in identifying and mitigating child protection-related risks in the implementation of the project interventions and will represent BRAC at the Camp level.

  • Support to conduct assessment for International Development for Early Learning Assessment (IDELA)
  • Support education needs assessment as needed in intervention target areas;
  • Review, assess and update the education situation in areas affected by emergency (camps sites)
  • Take a proactive stance for identifying and mitigating risk in project implementation.
  • Support to identify potential and qualified Facilitators for ECD intervention.
  • Support to design formative assessment tools for and support assessment.
  • Highlight education-related issues requiring an immediate or medium-term response and inform the Technical Specialist and Project Manager
  • Facilitate and support to establishment of Community Based Learning Facilities (CBLF)/ECD center for 3-5 years learners in collaboration with Majhi, community, and site management.
  • Facilitate in identifying learners including children with disability following selection criteria.
  • Prepare monthly activity plan based on DIP/quarterly plan and ensure effective implementation of planned activity in collaboration with community and stakeholders.
  • Track the progress of ECD activities and provide regular updates to the Technical Specialist and Project Manager;
  • Facilitate and ensure distribution of teaching-learning and other require material for ECD center and use.
  • Engage parents/caregivers and community people for quality implementation of ECD activities;
  • Participate in education program review meetings at the Camp level;
  • Gather and provide information for progress reports to ensure timely implementation of ECD and learning activities;
  • Ensure early and rigorous implementation of quality and accountability mechanisms
  • Support to design and facilitate capacity-building activities/training for ECD facilitators and volunteers in the areas of ECD;
  • Support to prepare Training schedule/Manual/Module for conducting quality training and workshops.
  • Organize and facilitate training, workshops, and meetings for Facilitators, volunteers, community people & and stakeholders to maintain standards.
  • Provide on-the-job coaching and mentoring support to the Facilitators, and Mentors in technical aspects of the program and cluster coordination;
  • Support and capacity building of Facilitator and Mentor for developing and strengthening referral mechanism for ECD.
  • Take necessary initiatives and ensure support to mobilize and capacity building of Parents Education Support Group/community group for effective implementation of program, build ownership
  • Visit project sites and ECD center regularly to supervise and monitor Integrated ECD-related activities in the affected communities, taking initiative for further improvement based on findings.
  • Assist M&E Officer and IM in data collection and storage;
  • Document challenges, best practices, and success stories for sharing the learnings;
  • Support the monitoring and reporting of major concerns on education and as well as child protection concerns inside and around the learning centers/spaces and
  • Support reporting and evaluation of — program outputs, outcomes and results achievement
  • Provide regular updates to the Technical Specialist on progress, priorities, and constraints -verbally and written on an agreed and develop and maintain strong coordination with stakeholders, Communities, site management and govt. official (as required) for effective implementation of ECD at the Camp level.
  • Develop networking and collaboration with the service provider of ECD at Camp i.e. Health, nutrition, protection & WASH sector, gender equality and inclusion and other implementing agencies. and establish and strengthen referral mechanisms.
  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organization and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme’s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
