Responsibilities & Context

Context
BRAC is an international development organization founded in Bangladesh that partner with over 100 million people living with inequality and poverty globally to create sustainable opportunities to realize potential. This project aims to study the financial behaviors of workers in Bangladesh’s Ready-Made Garment (RMG) sector using a financial diary approach. By examining income patterns, savings habits, borrowing practices and challenges faced by RMG workers, the study seeks to provide actionable insights for improving their financial inclusion and well-being. The mixed-methodology study will target low- to mid-income workers from major industrial areas, using a combination of self-reported financial diaries and enumerator-assisted data collection. Findings will inform policymakers, financial institutions, and development organizations to design tailored financial products and services for RMG workers.
