Responsibilities & Context
Lead the Quality Management System in our own plants and contractors, ensuring customer satisfaction and minimizing the Cost of Poor Quality in parallel with the sustainable search for continuous improvement of operational processes.
Execution – Maintain: Monitor the correct functioning of an area, systems, operations or productive processes as well as service processes contributing to compliance with company standards, procedures and indicators.
- Regarding the management of quality systems, apply the tools of quality and attitude in:
- Control of quality standards (Based 5M’s: Material, Machinery, Method, Labor, Environment) and lean management tools: (Completion Time, Cycle Times among others.)
- Centralize and ensure the use of updated quality specifications.
- Handle internal customer complaints (External Audit) for the implementation of improvement processes.
- Monitor corrective and preventive actions for quality issues that are arising internally and/or externally at Gildan.
- Ensure that all defined quality procedures are in compliance.
- Ensure quality levels with tolerances and statistical process control (limits) to maximize resource consumption against process costs.
Leadership – Middle Management: Plan, manage and optimize resources, motivate and develop middle management teams under his/her charge in order to fulfill organizational objectives.
- Lead the Quality Management System in the facilities of own plants and contractors ensuring customer satisfaction and minimizing the Cost of Poor Quality.
- Lead and ensure compliance with the Quality Certification Program in all applicable quality positions in its plants.
- Provide quality tools, identify training needs, and monitor communication skills and understanding to the entire team of quality leaders to ensure quality performance, stability, and consistency.
- Participate in all quality improvement meetings with suppliers, contractors and customers both internal and external.
- Act as a motivator for all employees by strengthening the culture of quality.
- Promote the integration of teamwork of high-level professionals oriented to obtain results based on collective strategies.
- Ensure the integrity of the information provided of quality data
Execution – Audit: Objectively review, examine or evaluate a product, activity and / or process for the purpose of validating and reporting about the correct application of procedures and standards, making relevant observations and corrections to improve effectiveness and efficiency of performance, product or service.
- Manage quality audits, site visits to assess the quality system capability of suppliers (when applicable) and contractors with responsibility and authority to approve/reject from a quality standpoint.
- Develop and implement quality plans, quality policies and procedures.
- Responsible for the process inspection system and the audit of the finished product.
- Provide support to all functional areas such as production, engineering and human resources.
- Evaluate quality supplies and supplier capacity based on product specifications against performance and costs (when applicable)
- Sending weekly/monthly summaries to Management to document the results of performance achievements.
- Define the progress of quality projects,
- Establish quality action plans for the improvement of quality costs related to manufacturing and service activities.
- Provide analysis of quality indicators to generate timely actions that lead to continuous improvement
