Responsibilities & Context
- Lead and manage the entire knitwear design team, ensuring seasonal collections are trend-right, innovative, and commercially viable.
- Develop mood boards, color palettes, and trend forecasts aligned with brand identity and market trends.
- Oversee the end-to-end design process, from concept to final sample approval.
- Collaborate closely with merchandising, sourcing, and production teams to ensure design feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
- Monitor global fashion trends, yarn developments, and technological innovations in knitwear.
- Mentor and develop junior designers; conduct regular reviews and provide feedback.
- Ensure consistency in fit, quality, and brand aesthetics across product lines.
- Coordinate with suppliers and mills for yarn selection and sampling.
- Attend trade shows, fashion weeks, and fabric fairs for inspiration and sourcing.
- In-depth knowledge of yarns, knitting techniques (flat, circular, fully fashioned), and garment construction.
- Proficient in design tools like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD software.
