Additional Requirements
- Age at least 35 years
- Strong background in sourcing both imported and domestic cotton for ring and rotor spinning applications.
- Familiarity with quality parameters affecting yarn performance and mill efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration.
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
- In-depth knowledge of international cotton markets and quality testing procedures.
- Experience with ERP systems and procurement software.Excellent communication, coordination, and decision-making abilities.
Responsibilities & Context
- Develop and implement sourcing plans for local and imported cotton varieties (e.g., US, Indian, African, or local) based on spinning requirements, yarn count plans, and market trends.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with cotton suppliers, ginners, international traders, and agents to secure the best quality and pricing.Work closely with production, PPC (Production Planning & Control), and sales teams to forecast raw cotton demand accurately based on yarn program and order booking.
- Continuously track global and domestic cotton market trends, pricing fluctuations, crop reports, and exchange rates to inform procurement decisions.
- Ensure procurement of cotton meets required quality parameters (e.g., micronaire, staple length, trash %, strength) through lab testing and pre-shipment inspections.
- Negotiate procurement contracts, shipment terms, and payment conditions while minimizing financial risk and ensuring compliance with company policy.
- Monitor stock levels at the mill, coordinate deliveries, and manage logistics to ensure uninterrupted supply to both spinning units.
- Drive procurement cost savings through strategic sourcing, bulk buying, and leveraging supplier competition.
- Oversee contract documentation, LC (Letter of Credit) handling, import/export compliance, and alignment with legal and financial procedures.
