Responsibilities & Context
- Conduct engineering surveys for the selected road.
- Assess the work activities for which labor-based construction methods are appropriate and for those sections for which heavy machinery is appropriate, establish a cost estimate for the rehabilitation and construction works for roads & bridges.
- Arrange necessary equipment, and keeping construction project costs at or, if possible, under budget.
- Highway Engineer is responsible for the projects from beginning to end.Make any necessary changes to the design drawings as per the site conditions.
- Supervise contractors on site, ensuring that the works meet the highest standards.
- Review the work programmers, resource, schedule and project implementation plans and ensure that the contractors/site supervisors comply with their work plans and complete the work within the specified time frame.
- Lead the execution team of highway construction and maintenance projects.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including designers, contractors, and project managers.
- Conduct site inspections, monitor progress, and resolve technical issues promptly.
- Prepare technical reports and project documentation.
- Any other job as per management’s requirement.
